Alistair's career started with the Clydesdale Bank in 1982 and he has been running his own brokerage since 1997. Recent personal achievements include completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Growth Programme in 2018, winning Business Leader of the Year at the Scottish Mortgage Awards in 2020 and subsequently a Lifetime Acievement Award at the same event in 2021.
Murray has been involved in the financial services sector since 1999. Starting as a loans underwriter, he progressed to case manager, then office manager before becoming co-founder and Operations Director of The Lending Channel in 2010.
Prior to the finance world, Murray spent nine years with Royal Mail in their Glasgow sales centre.
Elaine qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 and has spent many years working on all aspects of accounting and taxation for owner managed businesses. She brings with her the understanding of business needs and a valuable different angle to finance, which can be particularly beneficial for our commercial finance deals. In addition to her role as Finance Director in The Lending Channel, she continues to run her own Chartered Accountancy practice.
Sara joined us in 2012, fresh from a stint travelling in Cyprus, and is now a key member of our Secured Lending team. Sara had left school with the intention of taking up a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, but the lure of travelling kept this on hold for a while. When she's not enjoying her work, Sara enjoys her music within an orchestra, and can often be found in local open mic’s around Perth.
Having left school, Alison utilised her passion for horses and worked within the equestrian industry for six years. Alison spent the next four years at university and achieved her degree in Applied Bioscience and Zoology in 2013. Having left university, she started working within the finance industry and realised this was a career she wanted to pursue. Alison has now been with The Lending Channel since October 2017. Update CeRER (Certificate of regulated equity release) passed March 2020.
After graduating from university, I worked as a dental nurse for a year and a half before deciding I wanted to pursue a career in Financial Services. I am now delighted to say that I passed my full CeMAP in September 2021.
I left university after studying interior design then moved into banking where I worked in the contact centre and branch. This where I gained an interest in mortgages and after 7 years decided to move to the Lending Channel where I am studying for my CeMAP. Update - CeMAP passed 28/11/2020, with distinctions!
I recently graduated with a First-Class Honours Degree in Sociology and Politics, with a particular interest in the changing landscape of Housing. I have previous experience in the Financial Services Industry and currently volunteer with the Citizens Advice Bureau where I offer advice on rights in relation to housing, immigration, employment, finances, and benefits. I enjoy an advice role, and I am looking forward taking on a new challenge and making a positive impact in the mortgage industry.
Sharon has worked in the financial services industry for over 15 years. She previously worked for The Lending Channel, having recently returned after spending some time working in motor finance, refurbishing a couple of properties and taking time off to have her son. She now works part-time and enjoys having the perfect work-life balance.
I recently joined The Lending Channel coming from a High Street bank background in branch. I have made the move looking for a new challenge and to progress my career. I am a keen football fan who enjoys keeping myself fit and spending spare time with my pals. I am looking forward to pushing on with The Lending Channel and looking to work my way through my CeMap qualification.
After working in the property industry for 3 years I realised my interest in the financial aspect. I was fortunate enough to join The Lending Channel team where I will be studying to gain my CeMAP qualification to become a mortgage advisor.
Leena joined us in April 2022 and is brand new to finance, having previously worked in the hospitality sector. A university graduate she is now keen to learn as much as she can about property finance.
Lisa joined the team in April 2022 and is one of the administrators here at The Lending Channel. Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Edinburgh and has 7 years’ experience of working in a commercial office setting. She is really looking forward to the new challenge, learning about property finance and progressing in this field.
When Lisa is out of the office, she enjoys playing the piano and spending time with her family and friends.
